About Earthdance Festival
Our Vision
A world of communities joining in a common goal of global unity, collaboration and evolution toward a Culture of Peace through music, dance, prayer, and activism.
Our Mission
Earthdance is dedicated to growing an international network of event producers and communities that connect globally and act locally to implement real solutions for peace, sustainability, and social justice.
What We Do
Earthdance coordinates the annual Global Festival for Peace and multi-location charity event in alignment with the United Nations International Day of Peace on September 21. All events support local charities and participate in the synchronized Prayer for Peace, which unites participants in all locations – and hundreds of thousands more online – in a moment of shared intention. More than an entertainment event, Earthdance is an international network of communities coming together locally and connecting globally to deliver real solutions for peace, sustainability, and social justice.
Earthdance History
Earthdance was founded in 1997 with a vision to unite communities worldwide in promoting peace, sustainability and social justice through the universal platform of music and dance. Based on its global reach and diverse range of attendees, Earthdance has grown to become the largest global synchronized music and peace event in the world. Since the first multi-location event in 1997 with 22 cities in 18 countries, Earthdance has been held in over 500 locations in 80 countries. Each official Earthdance event commits to donate 50% of its profits to a local charity addressing, peace, sustainability, or social justice.

Peace Watch
The Peace Watch was developed by Earthdance, organizer of the annual peace and music event and synchronized Prayer for Peace held at hundreds of locations worldwide each September celebrating the International Day of Peace. The Peace Watch extends the annual synchronized Prayer for Peace into a daily meditation practice. The Earthdance Peace Watch is currently available as a widget for websites, blogs and social networks, and as an I-Phone app. Other formats forthcoming!
Each day the Earthdance Peace Watch sets two times for our shared global peace meditation, indicated by the violet dot and the numeric countdown.
It automatically adjusts for time zones so everyone around the world is focusing on peace at the same time. The synchronized time is shifting forward one hour each day. The meditation period is 7 minutes.
