Flowjob

Biography

Flowjob is Joakim Hjørne & Mads Tinggaard from Copenhagen/Roskilde. The project was first started by Joakim at the beginning of 2002 and released that very same year a 12” “Super Duper Supernova”/”Fandango” on German label “Love Sonic Disco”. After some time in the studio came the follow up: “Fluff me Tender” on Iboga’s famous compilation from 2003 “FX”. And it was later that year that the forces reunited and Mads Tinggaard, became a part of the project.

The 2 of them used to play in a band together long time ago. Mads was the drummer and Joakim the guitarist and it was obvious that they had to make elektronic music together aswell since they have been devoted to trance/house since 1993.

They started to develop their own caracteristic style which roughly can be described as housy morning trance with a possitive uplifting feeling. Their constant hard work in the studio has resolved in releases on Iboga, Tribal Vision, Millenium, and a track on Midjum made together with Luca off “4 Winds Circle”. Now the time has come to their debut album, which is promised to be an interresting journey in styles and soundscapes.

One thing is for sure though: Their mission is to lift you up and make you dance with a big smile on your face. The Flowjob Album “Support Normality” is being released on the 1st March 2006 on Iboga records.

Neelix

Biography

One could say that the creative act of piecing together several ideas by using the computer is kind of golden thread in the life of Henrik Twardzik: Originally the native of Hamburg used to do compositing works for film productions, following a regular job.

It was 1999, when something happened that should change his life: Basically he heard a song. But “Klein Aber Doctor” made him so much stoked, that he finally decided to get into producing music himself.

His first track he recorded was “Neelix - The Fourth”, released on a NOVA TEKK compilation called Maverixx in 2002, which was followed by numerous releases on different labels from all around the globe.

Having a creative vein on the one hand and heaps of experience with clicking the mouse buttons hundreds of times per day, piling up sequences on a computer screen on the other, he moved forward pretty fast. His first releases rapidly gained popularity and simultaneously Henrik got more and more enthusiastic about producing music. Taking the necessary actions as a result of that made his girlfriend pronouncing a certain phrase more and more often: Get a proper job again! Well, today she doesn’t say that any more.

Following the patterns of classical Progressive Trance at first and playing to its referee’s whistle, Henrik slowly but constantly developed a very own style. His album “No Way To Leave” from 2005 marks a turning point in his musical career: With this one he founded his own school of Trance music, consequently following the paradigm of Progressive in the very original meaning of this term.

Today Henrik is blissfully happy with getting a remarkable positive feedback from Trance fans all around the world and even being asked to produce music for TV commercials and popular movies.

Until now Henrik has released 2 albums and many singles, his third album is already finished, mastered and was to be released on the 30th of March, 2009 on Millennium Records. Henrik belongs also to the founders of the Hamburg based label Glamour Studios.

Antix

Antix

Biography

Behind the successful production of Antix are the brothers Hayden and Barton Strom. Making music together since 1999 and are today working full time as producers in their Slowburning Studios, Auckland New Zealand.

What has made Antix such a success? Here’s a little view of their backgrounds that has for sure shaped them as producers. Both Barton and Hayden were introduced to music at a young age, listening to music from their parent’s vast record collections. They quickly became addicted to the hypnotic sounds of trance in ‘95 when a friend handed them a tape urging them to check it out. Barton instantly purchased a mixer and started DJ’ing at small parties in the growing Auckland scene. Six months later he had moved to Japan to buy studio equipment and teach himself the art of production, where Hayden later joined him.

Together they returned to New Zealand, setting up various studios around Auckland and refining a sound, which really came together once they moved to the West Coast of the North Island and set up Slow Burning Studios in ‘99. The sound that seemed to evolve was a kind of minimal organic groove influenced by the European sound being played by DJ Philipp from Plastik Park and Anti from Spiral Trax. It wasn’t long before a connection was made when Philipp toured Australia and New Zealand in 2000, and Antix were signed for their first 12” (Rainstick) on Plastik Park. Since then Antix have published almost 50 works.
